Enter your site’s address below to check it for the accessibility problems ADA claims cite. The scan is free, covers 10 pages with no account, and lists each issue with the page, the element and how to fix it. No checker can certify that a site is ADA compliant, because the ADA doesn’t certify websites; this one shows what it found and what it couldn’t check.
What the check covers
The scan loads your pages in a real browser and tests them against WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA, the standard courts and the Justice Department point to. It reports the failures lawsuits and demand letters tend to name: images with no text alternative, form fields with no label, low-contrast text, controls a keyboard can’t reach, and links and buttons with no name.
What it can’t tell you
The Justice Department’s guidance (opens in a new tab) says a “clean” report from an automated checker does not necessarily mean everything is accessible. Some things need a person: the scan never plays audio or video, and it can’t see your database. Every report lists what it could not check, so you know where the gaps are.
What to do with the result
Fix what blocks a task first, then the rest, and keep a dated record of what you found and fixed. The full checklist covers the manual tests, and your state’s law shows what it adds to the ADA. If you have received a demand letter, start with what to do next. Comparing tools? See the options.
Questions
Does the ADA require my website to be accessible?
The Justice Department's position is that the ADA's requirements for businesses open to the public apply to the goods and services offered on a website. The ADA doesn't set a technical standard for businesses, and courts have answered differently on websites with no physical location.
Is an ADA compliance checker accurate?
It is accurate about what it can measure, such as missing text alternatives, contrast and unlabeled controls, and silent about what needs a person, such as whether a screen reader user can finish checkout. Treat a clean result as no failures found, not as compliance.
Is this ADA checker free?
Yes. Scanning 10 pages needs no account, and a free account scans up to 100 pages of one site. A full report with each issue's element, fix and a PDF is $49 per site.
